Meet Our Staff

Emme Tissue, camp director

Emme has been working in environmental education for the past three years and now serves as the Conservancy’s camp director while managing elementary programs and outreach experiences. What they love most about the Conservancy is watching campers discover new interests, build curiosity and connect with nature. When not searching streams for macroinvertebrates or spending time with campers outside, they enjoy hiking, kayaking and saying hi to Monty, the Conservancy’s screech owl!

Vanessa Holloway , environmental educator

Vanessa has been with the Conservancy for a year as an environmental/climate educator with the elementary education team and the Youth Climate Institute. Once a camp intern with the Conservancy herself, Vanessa now manages the junior counselor program in the summer. What Vanessa loves most about working at the Conservancy is working with students and amazing staff (including junior staff!). Outside of the Conservancy, Vanessa loves to spend time outdoors, enjoy the company of friends and family, and watch a good movie. 

Eli Greene, Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps Member

Eli is a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, and is thrilled to be starting her career in environmental education here at the Conservancy. What she loves most about the Conservancy are the ambassador animals that help the education team teach youth about the environment. When not educating youth all across the meadow and forests, she loves to horseback ride, dance and spend quality time with her family and friends.
