Native meadows provide vital habitat for pollinators and birds, improve soil and water health, and require less maintenance than turf. A University of Maryland Extension expert will teach how to establish a successful native meadow—from site preparation and seed selection to planting techniques and weed management. Participants will learn how to foster a thriving, self-sustaining landscape that benefits both people and nature. After the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to walk to the meadow restoration project at Mt. Pleasant.
