Youth Volunteer Opportunities
Youth volunteers are welcome at the Conservancy. Whether they are pulling weeds, planting trees or serving as summer camp counselors, students provide vital assistance to staff, who serve as mentors.
Drop-In Wednesday Morning Gardening

During the growing season (approximately April through October), this group meets every Wednesday morning at 9 a.m., weather permitting. No registration or experience is required; just show up and join the crew! The Conservancy provides gloves, tools and training, and volunteers bring whatever comfort items they may need (e.g., hat, sunscreen, water bottle).
Habitat Restoration Group (Great for Youth 14+)

Habitat restoration groups help remove invasive plants, replant and maintain native plant areas, restore stream banks, perform erosion control and trail maintenance, and more. The Conservancy provides gloves, tools, training, and volunteers bring whatever comfort items they may need (e.g., hat, sunscreen). Closed-toe shoes, long pants, long sleeves and water bottles are required.
Habitat groups meet during the spring and fall on select Tuesdays, from 3-4:30 p.m. No registration or volunteer application is required; just show up and join the team! This activity is weather-dependent and will be canceled in the event of rain.
The next habitat restoration sessions are April 7 and 21, and May 5, 12 and 26.
Internships
The Conservancy has opportunities for interns year-round for students older than 18. From working on the grounds, with our rescue animals, as camp counselors or as marketing assistants, there is something for every interest! College credit may be earned if needed. Ready to volunteer?
Complete our online youth application below, or download a copy to bring with you the first time you volunteer. Forms must be signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to volunteering. Youth under age 14 do NOT need to fill out an application but MUST be accompanied by an adult volunteer (adults can apply here). Please note that the Conservancy has two main volunteer activities for youth: Wednesday morning drop–in gardening during summer break, and Habitat Restoration, which takes place on select Tuesday afternoons, 3:00-4:30, during the spring and fall Additionally, some youth groups, such as scouting organizations, will periodically reach out to coordinate a scheduled work group. The Conservancy is unable to accommodate any additional activities for students to meet their service hour requirements for school or other organizations.
